The {West Chelsea} Life featuring Sandra Alvim

Yesterday I stopped by the West Chelsea home of my client-turned-friend Sandra Alvim, an astrologer, writer, and beauty expert. Her book, Yes I’m 58, is evidence of the healthy and fit lifestyle that Sandra lives. And, as she told me while we chatted, West Chelsea is the perfect neighborhood for such a lifestyle.

Photo Album: Hamptons Weekend

What a weekend! Summer is in full swing and now every weekend feels like a mini-vacation. We spent last weekend in the Hamptons; splashing in the pool, visiting with friends, celebrating a birthday, and of course I made a stop at Tracy Anderson’s Water Mill location for a dance class.

Style Favorite: Isabel Marant

Besides being really passionate for real estate, another one of my big loves in life is fashion. This quote by Gianni Versace sums it up: “Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live.” One of my absolute favorite designers is Isabel Marant, largely in part because her line is both fashionable and practical.

SoHo’s Imperial No. 9

A favorite lunch spot for sparking creativity, Imperial No. 9 is settled just off the lobby of the dreamy Mondrian SoHo hotel at 9 Crosby Street. I took my creative team there yesterday for a little Friday lunch and some brainstorming. Known for bringing sustainable seafood to downtown New York, and for its greenhouse-and-chandalier atmosphere, the restaurant was the perfect place to escape the heat (and then watch the rain!).

The {Chelsea} Life featuring Maria Brito

I met Maria Brito three years ago when she was first launching her “Lifestyling” business to help people become more knowledgeable on buying art for their homes, as well as creating a lifestyle in their home that they couldn’t achieve on their own. Maria is the quintessential Chelsea woman: creative, driven, dedicated to improving the happiness of others, a wonderful mommy, and extraordinarily cultured with impeccable taste.

16 Mercer Street: Modern Luxury Meets Historic Charm

This listing is just stunning, and has so much character! Owned and styled by a lifestyle, personalties and real estate editor, this place is a realtor – and a New Yorker’s – dream. 16 Mercer St, an Artist Loft in the Historic 1863 SoHo loft building, was originally built in 1863 to house Union troops. On a cobblestone street with vintage lighting, this historic structure is one of the last remaining SoHo gems.

Summer Style: Off the Top of My Head…

It is no secret that I love hats. Love, love, love. And there is no better time to add to your assortment of hats than now. The perfect easy summer accessory, a guard against too much sun on your face, and, of course, hats give you that little boost in sass. (Carly Simon, anyone?)

Here’s my take on the best hat trends this summer!

Classic SoHo Dining at Mercer Kitchen

Mercer Kitchen is a classic Soho staple where you can always count on favorites like steamed shrimp salad with avocado, mushrooms, tomato, and champagne vinaigrette, and I love the roasted chicken with french beans, carrots and mashed potatoes.
There’s a small street level cafe and then a larger dining room one floor below; each room is diverse but all are shadowy and warm, with original brick and cozy booths. The crown jewel is the open kitchen.
