Tracy Anderson Vitality Week Review: January 8th – 11th, 2015

large_tracy9 You know how we feel about Tracy Anderson, as we share a passion of being our best selves. The TA Vitality Weeks consist of four intensive days of workouts and lectures with Tracy, Her method honestly, hurts so good.

Tracy Anderson Method is engineered to help you reconnect with your body, eat your way through the holidays without any incipient guilt, and circumvent the annual weight creep. My experience on Vitality week January 8th – January 11th was amazing.  Although I must warn you, truly one of the most challenging work-outs I have ever done.  I did not only lose 6 pounds, but also lost over 8 inches as well.

I have been a Tracy Anderson Devotee since 2009 and the reason why I am loyal is that the Tracy Anderson Method method truly works and is always changing and transforming my body and the way I think and feel.   The vitality weeks Tracy shares her lifelong passion of choosing the best foods that are right for you, getting to know your allergies and be familiar with different food groups and how they work for you. What I mostly obsess about is the mat work out.  She’s a true genius with movement and how to trim you down in just 4 days.  AMAZING!

It’s a lifestyle I choose that truly brings out the best in me in the way I work and parent my children and stay healthy for my family.

I highly recommend you try the next Vitality Week!  For more information click go to: www.tracyanderson.com

EAT CLEAN

lentils-with-cucumbers-chard-and-poached-egg-940x600
It’s not enough to have a great work out routine.  Eating well is a big part of not only looking lean, but your clarity and focus through out the day. Looking good is just a bonus! The way we fuel our bodies to be our best selves is a major component in our daily life.
Here is a delicious recipe I found on Bon Appetite featuring Good-for-You Recipes for 2015:
Bring about 2″ water to a boil in a large saucepan; reduce heat so water is at a gentle simmer and add vinegar, which helps the whites coagulate. Crack an egg into a small bowl, then gently slide it into water. Repeat with remaining eggs, waiting until whites are starting to set before adding the next one (about 30 seconds apart). After about 3 minutes, whites should be set and yolks still runny. Using a slotted spoon, transfer eggs to paper towels as they are done.
Combine lentils, scallions, dill, lemon zest, and 1 Tbsp. lemon juice in a medium bowl; season with salt and pepper.
Toss cucumbers with 1 Tbsp. za’atar and remaining 1 Tbsp. lemon juice in a small bowl; season with salt and pepper.
Heat oil in a medium skillet over medium. Add Swiss chard by the handful, tossing and letting it cook down a bit before adding more, and cook until tender; season with salt and pepper. Stir in garlic, if using, and set aside.

Divide lentils among bowls and top each with some chard, cucumbers, a few dill sprigs, and a poached egg. Sprinkle with more za’atar.

Game changer: Water… Who Knew?

Lemon Water
Can I truly curb my appetite by simply drinking more water?
My first week after my family’s vacation in South America I made a commitment to purify and cleanse my liver.  I have been starting my day by drinking 4 8oz glasses of Lemon water consecutively first thing in the morning.  One glass right after another. Allow 15 to 20 minutes to do so and then in 30 minutes you can have your morning shake or breakfast.
Here are the benefits I have experienced in the past 2 weeks:
  • It has truly made a significant difference in my diet and I no longer get those hunger pains as they were signals requiring more water vs. that afternoon cookie.
  • You will feel fuller and it aids in digestion.
  • Kick my coffee habit. Now I only drink lemon water and green tea and eat clean
  • My skin looks great and glows!
Here is a great article I found on  lifehack.org on the benefits of drinking lemon water daily.  Read it – Truly Good good for you!
Here’s to a happier and healthier you for 2015!
