Whether you’re a Tracy Anderson devotee, a SoulCycle addict, a yoga warrior or a triathlete, you identify with certain fitness styles that bring out the most powerful YOU! Here are some brands that are making waves on New York’s sweat scene.
Beyond Yoga makes some of the sport’s best gear, from their comfortable-to-lunge-in leggings to their supportive and flattering tanks. Even more, some of the fittest celebs have been seen sporting their pieces, including Jessica Biel, Naomi Watts, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, Katie Holmes, and Miranda Kerr – and that’s just a few! My yoga style of choice is bikram. The stretching and sweating is an awesome accompaniment to all my fast-paced dancing. I especially like the gray beyond yoga top; It’s a great intermediate piece that I can wear to pick up the kids or to run around the city! Beyond Yoga‘s stuff is the softest, and I love all of the bright colors for Spring! The bra top fits very well and is so flattering. You’ll see their pieces on yogis at Pure Yoga and other hot spots in the city.
Nike has become a lot more fashion forward and is still the best choice for runners, and their clothes are the most slimming. They also choose great colors and patterns that inspire you to go to the gym, and they never make too many so you won’t have a twin on the next treadmill over!
Tracy Anderson leggings are inspired by the rockstar dancer in you! She’s just launched new line of rocker chic styes available on her website, as well as the classic black body-type-based leggings she started making last year.
Whatever you do in your fitness routine is a part of your city lifestyle, and you can put your own personality into your workout wear!
Here’s a look at some of my favorite pieces of the season! The pictures were taken by the Fromm Family project Photographers: Tyler age 7, Sofia age 5, and Mommy as editor.

What does your fitness style say about your New York lifestyle? What is your favorite piece of workout wear this season?
I’m jealous of your hot pink sparkly leggings! I’m trying to wear more color – I used to work out in all black but now I’m mixing in purples, blues, and oranges. My style varies because I do yoga, running and soulcycle. I guess you could say that reflects my busy and creative lifestyle!
