No summer is complete without a trip to The Cloisters.   Located in the northern Manhattan, at Fort Tryon Park, this branch of the Metropolitan  Museum of Art is home to incredible Medieval art and architecture.  It’s a great spot for the whole family!

Of course, it wouldn’t be summer without a trip to the beach! Can’t make it out to the Hamptons this weekend? Dont worry! You can still take a dip in the Long Island Sound, just head to Rockaway Beach in Queens!

Rockaway is a popular destination for surfers, you can even take a lesson right on the beach, at Surf School New York. If that’s not your speed, the Rockaway Boardwalk also boasts other attractions, including many bars and restaurants.  Be sure to check out Caracas Arepa Bar  – you can’t miss their Sangria Slush! Yummy!

Want to head off the beaten path? A less trafficked NYC beach is Orchard Beach, located in the Bronx.   This beach offers something for everyone, from quiet nature trails, food stores and specialty shops on the Promenade, as well as,   playgrounds and sport courts.  There’s even a nude beach!
