I had the privilege of attending a truly enchanting evening at the renowned Parrish Art Museum—an event hosted by my dear friend Aliya Lee Kong, with Karina Sokolovsky and Nadia Vazirani celebrating the profound union between art and the connections it forges. The occasion effortlessly intertwined the realms of art and camaraderie.
The centerpiece of the event was a mesmerizing creation by the esteemed artist James Brooks. The Parrish Art Organization aptly describes how “A Painting Is a Real Thing will provide an overdue reappraisal of this artist who fearlessly shattered any inclination towards repetitive formulas or mere formal decisions in his work, extending the vibrancy and relevance of Abstract Expressionism far beyond its conventional boundaries.”
You have the opportunity to experience this exhibition firsthand at the Parrish Art Museum in Watermill, NY until October 15th, 2023.
The night illuminated the fusion of artistic creativity and friendship. Amid this enchanting evening, I was reminded of how art possesses the unique power to cultivate enduring connections.
