Printemps Opening at One Wall Street in Spring 2025

New York City’s Financial District is set to become even more luxurious with the arrival of Printemps, the iconic Parisian department store, opening at One Wall Street in Spring 2025. This marks Printemps’ first U.S. location, bringing with it a legacy of elegance, high-end shopping, and French sophistication. The new store is poised to become a standout in FiDi’s rapidly evolving luxury retail scene.

A Historic Setting for a Legendary Store

One Wall Street, an Art Deco masterpiece designed by architect Ralph Thomas Walker in 1931, will provide the perfect backdrop for Printemps. The building has undergone a meticulous transformation, converting its once-commercial space into luxury condominiums. The store itself will span 55,000 square feet across two floors, including the famous Red Room, a stunning architectural space that has just been designated a New York City Interior Landmark.

The Red Room, designed by famed artist Hildreth Meière, features soaring 33-foot ceilings, crimson walls, and shimmering gold mosaics that add to its legendary beauty. This architectural gem has been closed to the public for over 20 years, but Printemps’ arrival will finally reopen this iconic space for New Yorkers and visitors alike.

Printemps Red Room Landmarking Event

In honor of the Red Room’s new landmark status, One Wall Street recently hosted the prestigious Printemps Red Room Landmarking event. This exclusive celebration honored the architectural and cultural significance of the Red Room and its creator, Hildreth Meière, who is regarded as one of the leading female designers of the Art Deco period.

Guests, including Jean-Marc Bellaiche, CEO of Printemps Group, and Laura Lendrum, CEO of Printemps America, gathered for a sky-high cocktail reception and enjoyed inspiring speeches by the esteemed designer Laura Gonzalez and four generations of Hildreth Meière’s family—Nancy Bachana, Hilly Dunn, Anna Kupik, and Louise Meiere Dunn. The event not only celebrated the Red Room’s rich history but also highlighted Printemps’ commitment to preserving New York’s cultural legacy while bringing Parisian elegance to its new location.

Laura Gonzalez: Bringing Parisian Flair to NYC

Printemps has entrusted acclaimed French designer Laura Gonzalez to reimagine its New York location. Known for her work on the Cartier Mansion and other high-profile projects, Gonzalez will blend the bold spirit of New York with the timeless elegance of Paris. The Printemps at One Wall Street promises to be a curated universe of high-end fashion, art, and design.

To maintain the integrity of the Red Room, the design will carefully integrate bespoke furniture, upcycled materials from fashion shows, and 3D-printed objects. Gonzalez aims to create a concept store where every detail feels unique and meticulously crafted, offering FiDi residents and visitors an immersive luxury shopping experience unlike any other.

A New Icon for NYC’s Luxury Scene

Printemps at One Wall Street is not just a store—it’s an experience. Beyond high-end fashion and beauty counters, the space will cater to the well-heeled residents of One Wall Street’s condominiums. This marks another chapter in the Financial District’s transformation into a luxury residential and retail hub, similar to how Printemps transformed its flagship location on Boulevard Haussmann in Paris back in the 19th century.
