First there was Soho House. It was exclusive. It was elite. It was it! But in true New York fashion, one day you’re in and one day you’re out. There is now a new rise of social clubs in New York and we’re breaking down our favorites of the moment. We want to hear from you though. Casa Cipriani:
Casa Cipriani has been the talk of the town and for good reason. It brings the 1920’s flair to the 2020’s. Think Great Gatsby. To get in you even need to adhere to a strict dress code, and if you know me, you know that speaks volumes.
Casa Cipriani has taken over the iconic Battery Park Maritime Building that was designed in 1906. Thierry Despont, renowned architect and designer meticulously restored the space and curated the interiors. In addition to its restaurants and lounges, Casa Cipriani houses 47 guest rooms and suites, outfitted in lacquered mahogany, custom Italian furnishings and warm, maritime-inspired elegance.
Although non-members can experience their time at Casa Cipriani when checking into the hotel, those who aren’t staying in the guest rooms must be members of the social club. Casa Cipriani has an extensive and exclusive waitlist; however, once admitted it is $3,600/year. Members have access to an old school jazz club, an in-house restaurant, plush bar and lounge areas. There is also a chic rooftop venue with views of the East River, Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge.
Zero Bond:
If you want to rub elbows with A-list celebrities, influencers, socialites, and fashionistas, there is one place to go: Zero Bond. It’s a smaller audience and community based.
During the day, it’s the perfect place to eat and hold discreet meetings. At night is when the crowd fills in. The concept behind the space is London Social Club meets Manhattan’s elite.
What’s inside one of the city’s most coveted member only clubs? Access to 20,000 SQFT over two floors and a roof deck. Dining options include a grill room, an omakase bar and a café. There will also be a screening room, as well as a library, which is a long room lined with glass shelves like magazine rack, showcasing picture books from publisher Assouline. Culturing programming is planned to include kids’ games in the mornings, wine tastings and stand-up comedy in the evenings, and an annual Oscars viewing party.
Want to be part of the club? A one-year membership at Zero Bond ranges from $2,500 to $4,000 with an initiation fee of $500 to $1,000.
