Set the Scene

Facing the mounted cavalry troopers of The King’s LifeGuard, the Old War Office has been reborn as The OWO, now including Raffles London at The OWO. With 120 rooms and suites, nine restaurants, three bars, a 27,000-square-foot Guerlain spa, and a subterranean pool, it’s a luxurious haven exuding regal masculinity. French MD Philippe Leboeuf, with a GM-ing CV that includes Claridge’s, the Carlyle, and the Hotel de Crillon, presides over it all with suave efficiency.

The Backstory
Built in 1906, the Edwardian Baroque grandiosity of the War Office served as the administrative headquarters of the British army. Purchased by The Hinduja Group for $440 million in 2016, the restoration investment of over two billion dollars over eight years has transformed it into a masterpiece.

The Rooms
With 120 rooms and suites, even the most compact exude a sense of space with triple-height ceilings. State offices and grander State rooms have become plum suites, like the Haldane Suite and the Churchill Suite, offering a glimpse into historical significance. Rates start at $1,384 per night for a Classic Room.

The Area
Nestled in Whitehall, The OWO is a departure from traditional hotel locations, offering proximity to Downing Street and the hub of London’s establishment.

Service Excellence
Impeccable service with a twinkle in its eye—The OWO’s staff is omnipresent, ensuring a seamless experience for every guest.

Culinary Extravaganza
With nine restaurants and three bars, including the buzzy Guard’s Bar, The OWO offers an array of dining experiences. Argentine chef Mauro Colagreco’s fine-dining venue and the surreptitious Spy Bar add culinary magic to the OWO experience.

Guerlain Spa and Wellness
Spread over 27,000 square feet, The OWO’s Guerlain Spa is a sanctuary of well-being. With treatments curated by the heritage French brand, the spa offers a holistic approach to wellness.

Prime Residences
The OWO Residences by Raffles, crafted from the storied interiors of the former War Office, offer 85 uniquely designed homes. These residences redefine elegant living, blending heritage with modern luxury.

Green Initiatives
Certified by BREEAM, The OWO’s restoration adhered to environmental guidelines, emphasizing waste and water reduction, and eco-friendly practices.
