the {monica castiglioni} art life: Last summer I discovered Monica Castiglioni’s Art Jewelry in Sag Harbor at MONC XIII, and quickly became obsessed with her designs. Monica’s art jewelry gives me such good energy and the pieces are quite unique and extraordinary.

Monica Castiglioni is an internationally renowned jewelry designer who hand makes statement pieces that are sculptural works of art. Her creations have been sold in museum design shops around the world including the Moma Design shop in NY, The Victoria and Albert Museum Design shop in London and select boutiques.

One fall morning I was having breakfast with my daughter Sofia and my friend Junko at Avenue World School Cafe. Junko noticed I was wearing Monica Castiglioni’s rings and said “What a small world, Monica is one of my best friends!” I gasped and knew that I must meet Monica and work on a collaboration to showcase her jewelry in one of my luxury exclusive properties.

It gives me great pleasure to host Monica Castiglioni tonight Wednesday, February 25th, 4pm-8pm  for a art jewelry trunk show at the quintessential Soho Penthouse, 53 Greene Street.

The penthouse at 53 Greene Street is the crown jewel of a meticulously converted boutique condominium in Soho’s historic Cast Iron district.

 

 

 

Monica Castiglioni’s approach to design is simple; she looks to nature, art and her emotions for inspiration. She works in bronze and silver, her pieces can best be described as sculpture.
