So many of the shoes at Barney’s right now have my attention! From new booties and pumps for the chicest fall looks to high boots to wear every chilly day this season, plus of course a perfect pair of pumps from Celine (in gold above, or in red like Gwyneth Paltrow wore to the Every Mother Counts lunch event!)
They trickiest choice when looking for a new wear-with-everything shoe is, truly, what does go with everything? It can’t be skyscraper-high or running around the city is out, it can’t be open toed or cold winter day wear is out, but it has to be nice enough to dress up if needed. So, how to choose?
The truth is there isn’t one perfect shoe for every look, but you can break it down. Casual errands or days running around town with the kids, you need something like the Isabel Marant’s – fun and stylish but super comfortable, or a more casual platform. I always have to have some extra height – no flats for me! From there you can break your collection of dressier shoes down into 2 groups: office/day wear that can transition to night, and special event shoes for when you need to look perfectly polished and chic, and don’t have to walk much at all.
No matter which shoe you’re shopping for, take my very best style advice with you: Buy what you love!
