Food Chains Teaser from Sanjay Rawal on Vimeo.
Food Chain is a film by Eric Schlosser (Food, Inc., Fast Food Nation) and director Sanjay Rawal (Challenging Impossibility) that explores the exploitation of farm workers in the agriculture industry in the United States, the complicity of government and corporations in perpetuating human rights abuses and the role consumers can play in ending some of the most egregious human rights violations within our borders. Our fruits and vegetables are grown and gathered by workers who are underpaid (wages equal cents on the dollar!) and who are bought and sold like slaves. And all of this is happening right under our noses!
Food Chain will be a fact-based essay form documentary, aiming not simply to inspire emotion, but direct action through the exploration of a number of extremely enlightening and compelling narratives. As someone who aims to eat healthy myself and to inspire others to eat well, learning more about this food system through Food Chain has broken my heart and I feel very passionately about supporting the good work this film will do.
